Salute to Veterans Celebration
South Central Bank is proud of the service men and women who reside in our community. Each year in November, the bank recognizes those who have answered the call to serve in the United States military with a special event. It is a time when those who wore the uniform are invited to come together and be honored for serving our nation.
This past year, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Salute to Veterans Celebration was adjusted to an outdoor event that included social distancing and other measures to make certain everyone remained safe.
The Celebration was in the form of a reverse parade. Veterans throughout the community drove through a marked parade route in the South Central Bank Operations Center parking lot. Instead of floats and decorated vehicles moving along a route, parade participants lined the parking lot as Veterans drove through to cheers, waves and expressions of gratitude while remaining inside of their vehicle. A complimentary bagged breakfast was provided to Veterans.
South Central Bank and WBKO TV have partnered on the 3 Degree Guarantee program. Each time meteorologist Ethan Emery correctly predicts the forecast within three degrees a charitable organization will receive $25. For the month of January, South Central Bank chose Megan’s Mobile Grocery for the 3 Degree Guarantee charity that would receive $25 for each correct forecast within 3 degrees through the week on AM Kentucky. South Central Bank is proud to recognize organizations striving to improve our community.
